Players who didn't quite make the 53-man roster had one more shot to stick around the Washington Commanders. That, of course, was coming back onto the practice squad if they cleared waivers.
There was a good chance general manager Adam Peters could get everyone he wanted to return if the opportunity arose. This is an exciting project to be part of, and the Commanders' squad built some strong brotherhoods throughout the summer.
Being released or waived is never easy. However, getting a chance to keep your foot in the door is a decent consolation prize in difficult circumstances at this time of year.
