After yet another last-place finish in the NFC East, the talk was of getting better as the Washington Redskins gathered for the start of on-field workouts this week.
Coach Jay Gruden was no exception.
“You never stop learning as a coach,” said Gruden, 48, following Tuesday’s two-hour workout. “You’re always going to learn something about your team, about yourself. The older you get, the more experience you get. So it was a learning experience last year.”
Among last season’s four first-year NFL coaches, Gruden finished last in games won and in improvement over the previous season.
