A closer look at how Redskins’ inside linebacker Mason Foster has made an impact

The Washington Redskins began the season with Keenan Robinson and Perry Riley Jr. as their pair of inside linebackers. Injuries have derailed both of their seasons, leading to Will Compton playing plenty of snaps and eventually taking over the starting “Mike” linebacker position from Robinson. He has been praised for his play and his communication, helping get the defense set before the snap. After both Robinson and Riley suffered injuries, Washington signed free agent Mason Foster to help fill the void.

Since joining the Redskins, Foster has not only filled the void, he’s formed a strong partnership with Compton at the heart of the Redskins defense.
