3 Reasons Why The Redskins Are GUARANTEED To Beat The Falcons

The Washington Redskins' 23-20 win over the rival Philadelphia Eagles last week has infused major energy into this team heading into a road matchup with the undefeated Atlanta Falcons this Sunday. Not only do we think the Redskins will be competitive, we're going so far as to name them as our upset special of the week. Here's 3 Reasons Why The Redskins Are GUARANTEED To Beat The Falcons.

1. Running For Daylight

The Redskins improved from the #4 rushing offense in the NFL to #1 this week after gashing the Eagles for nearly 130 yards. Alfred Morris and Matt Jones have combined for 115 yards per game, gutting opposing front sevens at will all year long. The Falcons' defense went from horrid last year to passable this year. That's not a ringing endorsement. Morris and Jones will have a game on the level of their Philly-fest, if not better.

2. Closing The Doors

On the flip side of the coin, Sunday's game pits the #2 rushing defense in the league (Redskins) against the #12 rushing offense (Eagles). Falcons sophomore RB Devonta Freeman has been transcendent his last two games with six overall touchdowns (three per game). However, the law of averages are going to catch up with him sooner or later, and we're betting sooner against one of the most underrated front sevens in the game.

3. Kirk Cousins

Don't walk away from the computer. Cousins had one of the best game of his career against the Eagles, going 31-for-46 for 290 yards and a touchdown. He's been a more-than-adequate game manager in the team's two wins this year and he's actually a very important cog in what has been a heartening 2-2 start for the team. Add in the fact that he's going up against a suspect Atlanta secondary and we're circling him as a fantasy sleeper this week.
