3 Potential Draft Day Trades The Washington Redskins Could Make

The 2017 NFL Draft will start in just under a month, and there will be plenty of trades. That's just the nature of the draft, although those trades are very difficult to predict. One team that could make some noise is the Washington Redskins, as they try to make it back into the playoffs next season.

To help determine the value of each pick and what it would cost, we're using the NFL trade value chart. While the trade values won't match up exactly, we tried to get them as close to even as possible. With that in mind, here are three trades the Redskins could make in the NFL Draft

3) Trade Down In First Round
Redskins get:
No. 29 overall pick, 2nd round pick (No. 61 overall)
Packers get: No. 17 overall pick

Of the three listed, this probably is the least likely and does Washington the least amount of good. The Packers would need to watch a top defensive player fall down the board to want to trade up, and the Redskins would need to see all of their top targets come off the board. And, if Washington does decide to trade down, it probably won't be so far back.

2) Trade Up In First Round
Redskins get:
No. 12 overall pick
Browns get: No. 17 overall pick, 3rd round pick (No. 81 overall), 5th round pick (No. 154)

The Redskins know they're not far away from really becoming a contender. If a top 10 prospect is on the board for the Browns at No. 12, Washington may sacrifice the extra pick and move up. The trade favors the Browns, who are looking to acquire more picks, but does give the Redskins the opportunity to draft a true impact player and that can be a difference maker from Day One.

1) Trade Back In First Round
Redskins get: No. 20 overall pick, 3rd round pick (No. 101 overall)
Broncos get: No. 17 overall pick

This is the trade that I think would make the most sense for the Redskins. Without a real dire need they can only address at the top of the draft, trading down a few selections while adding another pick would be smart move. Denver desperately needs offensive line help, and moving up would likely allow them to have their choice of linemen.
