3 Players The Redskins Need To Avoid In The 2015 NFL Draft

The Washington Redskins need to improve in quite a few areas if they want to get back into playoff contention next season, but they’ll have the chance to address several key areas through the 2015 NFL Draft. While some needs have been taken care of in free agency, next month's draft will be crucial in turning around a roster that has struggled the last few seasons. With the apparent RGIII mistake, another bad draft could doom the Redskins for an extended length of time. Here are 3 Players The Redskins Need To Avoid In The 2015 NFL Draft.

 CB Marcus Peters, Washington

The Redskins have a need at corner and while Marcus Peters is one of the top players available skill-wise, he comes with some red flags. Suspended and subsequently dismissed from Washington, Peters lets his emotions get in the way of his play and could ultimately prove to be a headache for the coaching staff. As a result, he is a huge gamble even if he lasts into the second or third round, and guys like Kevin Johnson (Wake Forest) and Trae Waynes (Michigan State) come with less risk and just as much talent.

 OT Cedric Ogbuehi, Texas A&M

Washington can use some help at the tackle position, and should be set up to take one within the first three rounds. Ogbuehi is regarded as one of the top 10 tackles in the draft, but concerns abound over his core strength and ability to pass protect. His ACL injury suffered in A&M's bowl game adds some more doubt over his short term outlook, and Ogbuehi looks more like a long-term project right now. Washington needs more certainty if they're picking a lineman early in the draft.

DE Owamagbe Odighizuwa, UCLA

With players like Randy Gregory and Shane Ray on the board at fifth overall, Washington should address their edge rush needs right off the bat. If they go a different route and elect to wait until round two or three for their rusher, UCLA's Odighizuwa may tempt them as a fallback option. However, he doesn't win on the edge and isn't versatile enough to move around the formation. Odighizuwa is a scheme fit rather than top talent, which limits his upside if Washington takes him in round two.
