Washington Capitals sign NCAA goaltender Adam Carlson

The Washington Capitals signed their first NCAA free agent today when they agreed to terms with former Mercyhurst College goaltender Adam Carlson. It is a two year entry level contract.

Carlson, 22, posted a 7-7-3 record with Mercyhurst College (NCAA) this season with a 2.85 goal-against average and a .919 save percentage. The 6’3”, 180-pound goaltender ranked tied for fifth in the Atlantic Hockey Association (AHA) in save percentage this season, 10th in saves (536) and 11th in goals-against average and wins. Carlson earned his first win of the season on Oct.
