Trotz said Caps will try to do something at trade deadline. Nothing drastic. Scott Gomez is on the radar.

Taking Trotz at face value, it really does sound like the Washington Capitals will be pursuing depth rather than any kind of big name at the trade deadline this year, something that we pretty much expected.
According to the head coach, one of those options could possibly be signing veteran forward Scott Gomez, who is currently on a professional tryout contract with the Caps’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Hershey Bears.
