The Athletic’s Tarik El-Bashir was on the scene and reported that Washington Capitals left winger Alex Ovechkin went down during the late summer informal skate scrimmage and was in a lot of pain.
In particular it was his knee as the captain put all his weight on his right leg and none on his left as he was coming off the ice. As he came down Ovechkin was even yelling in pain.
A Capitals spokesman told El-Bashir while Ovechkin was getting looked at that the injury didn’t appear to be too serious.
