On Tuesday’s edition of “The Sports Fix”, ESPN 980 host Kevin Sheehan posed a provocative hypothetical question based on an email from a listener.
“What if I told you right now that you can have one or the other — a Caps Stanley Cup right now … or three years in the playoffs in the next five for not only the Nats, but the Redskins and the Wizards, too?” Sheehan asked. “I’m not going to tell you what happens in those playoffs, but you get three swings at the postseason — Nats, Wizards and Redskins — for the next five years, but you’ve got to give up the Stanley Cup.
