...the number of games it took to subdue the Vegas Golden Knights in the 2018 Stanley Cup final. It was the first time in almost 30 years that the Capitals dropped the first game of a playoff series only to come back and win Games 2-5 (although they came close, dropping Games 1 and 2 against Columbus earlier in the postseason before taking Games 3-6).

The last time they won four in a row after losing the series opener was back in the 1990 Patrick Division Final, when they lost the opening game of the series, 7-3 to the Rangers before sweeping the last four contests, the last two of which were settled in overtime.
