MSE Foundation and the Washington Capitals Raise $140,000 for Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors through 2015-16 Courage Caps Presented by Telos Corporation

ARLINGTON, Va. – Washington Capitals owner Ted Leonsis and Telos Corporation CEO John Wood presented Bonnie Carroll, president and founder of Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), with a check in the amount of $140,000 during the Capitals game versus the Pittsburgh Penguins on April 7, at Verizon Center.

The money was raised through Courage Caps presented by Telos Corporation. The Capitals sold team-issued Courage-branded hats and T-shirts to benefit TAPS for the fifth-consecutive season. Since 2011, MSE Foundation has raised nearly $640,000 for TAPS through this program.

“Whenever one of our families sees a Courage Cap, they know that America has not forgotten them or their loved one,” said Bonnie Carroll, Founder of TAPS and 2015 recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
