The Capitals traded veteran center Nic Dowd, 35, to the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday. For eight seasons, Dowd centered Washington’s fourth line, played in 506 games, scored 88 goals and added 104 assists. He routinely killed penalties, and stepped up for teammates when the Caps needed a spark.
In exchange for Dowd, the Capitals acquired a second-round pick in the 2029 NHL Draft, a third-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft, and goalie Jesper Vikman.
We here at Caps Outsider will miss him.
