On the second of back-to-back games (again) the Caps headed into the home of their rivals looking to carry over some momentum from their big win over the Blues on Wednesday. As the puck dropped, it seemed that idea went out the window as they gave up two power-play goals to Sidney Crosby (of course) and found themselves down 3-0 before the second period was three minutes old. That they clawed their way back into the game was a promising sign, but the special teams again proved their undoing en route to a frustrating loss in the ‘Burgh.
Plus: Erasing a 3-0 lead against a team fresh off having blown another 3-0 lead is always fun, and it would have been better if the Caps had taken advantage of a fragile Pens team.
