The Caps faced a tough task tonight, taking on a team that has picked up the majority of their wins on the season on the road – nine of their ten coming into this one, in fact. Which is…good. So the hometown team would need to bring their “A” game to not only take on the best road team in the league but also start to climb out of their funk. Mission accomplished, as they got timely scoring and a shutdown defensive performance to take care of business and get a very important two points.
Plus: Great to see former King Matt Roy get the Caps on the board early, picking up his first goal since March 27 (and just his fourth as a Cap).
