Heading into the break, the Caps let a one-goal lead slip away in the third period and very quickly fell into a very deep hole to the Rangers. Tonight’s game seemed destined to go the same way after two quick strikes by the Devils to first tie, then go ahead – but the Caps (led by a resurgent third by Alex Ovechkin) made sure to snag an all-important point
Plus: How about the Caps not letting this one get away from them this time? None of the scrambling we saw pre-break against New York, and they rediscovered their attack game to get the tying goal and hang on for the extra time.
