Capitals vs Bruins Recap: Caps Can’t Crack Swayman in 3-1 Loss

After a scoreless first period and a half, a David Pastrnak snap shot from far out snuck past a screened Logan Thompson to put the Boston Bruins ahead in the Washington Capitals’ season opener. A Tom Wilson tally tied things up for DC late in the third, for all but 38 seconds as Boston’s superstar would find Elias Lindholm on the power play. The Bruins would hold onto that lead for the rest of the game, as the Caps begin the 2025-26 season in the loss column.

Plus: Washington generally carried play throughout the game, dominating most possession metrics and putting up 36 shots on goal.
