The Washington Capitals really needed a bounceback game after Saturday night’s rough outing against the Lightning. Fortunately for them, and unfortunately for the Columbus Blue Jackets, they got just that. Although the game got off to a bit of a slow start for both teams, the Capitals were in control pretty much from the beginning and ended up scoring five unanswered goals. Tom Wilson scored one, but the other four—yes, four—goals came from Washington’s defensemen: Jakob Chychrun (2G), John Carlson, and Martin Fehérváry. Chychrun opened the scoring, but it was his second goal of the game (Washington’s third) that really sealed it for the Caps.
