The Washington Capitals won their 10th game in their last 12 contests with a 3-1 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning to sweep the three game season series between the two teams. The Capitals also swept a back-to-back weekend affair after defeating the Devils on Friday night in New Jersey.
The first period was scoreless which was a shocker considering the offensive treat we’re usually spoiled for when these two teams meet.
The Caps took the lead at 4:40 in the second period with a downtown blast from Radko Gudas for his first Capitals goal.
