The Washington Capitals have recalled forward Zach Sill from their American Hockey League affiliate in Hershey.
With the Capitals not having a morning skate on Sunday and Coach Barry Trotz not meeting with media until 5:30 p.m. ahead of Sunday’s regular-season finale against the Anaheim Ducks, it’s hard to know the purpose of the recall. Most concerning is that it would spell bad news for Jay Beagle, who blocked a shot with his left leg in the first period against the St. Louis Blues on Saturday night and did not return to the game.
