Capitals Re-sign Trevor van Riemsdyk to Two-Year Contract Extension

The Capitals have re-signed defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk to a two-year, $1.9 million contract, the team announced today. The contract will carry an average annual value of $950k, earning him $1 million in year one and $900k in year two.

Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman was first to break the news, and the Washington Post’s Samantha Pell was quick to confirm it.

The right-handed blueliner has played nine games for the Caps this season, and he has one goal. Despite not seeing a lot of ice time this season, The Athletic’s Tarik El Bashir reported today that the team has really liked what they have seen from TvR so far.
