After a big overtime win yesterday, the Washington Capitals have gained a 2-1 lead in the series thanks to a clutch goal late in the game by Jakub Vrana with 1:44 left.
Both teams played to a scoreless first period with the Pittsburgh Penguins outshooting the Capitals 8-3. The Penguins also outhit the Caps 9-1.
Both teams traded goals in the second period. Tom Wilson put the Caps up 1-0 much to the delight of the Pittsburgh crowd (sarcasm) by playing the puck along the boards and then coming up for the shot.
