Capitals @ Hurricanes Recap: Caps Weather the Storm in 4-1 Win

Related Topics: Carolina Hurricanes

Plus: The Washington Capitals have been struggling on special teams as of late, but not tonight! They went 1-for-5 on the power play, and the penalty kill came up big tonight and kept Carolina’s power play off the board despite five chances.

Minus: The Capitals probably could have tallied a few more goals and run up the score a bit, but Freddie Andersen was incredible in net for the Hurricanes tonight. Andersen did leave the game, however, towards the end of the third period.

Caps Player of the Game: There are a few options for this honor tonight, including Logan Thompson for a stellar night in net and Jakob Chychrun for scoring a PPG for his 100th career goal and taking on some extra penalty killing.
