Capital vs. Flyers Recap: Flyers Win in a Shootout

Washington travelled to Philadelphia to face a hot Flyers squad that was sitting just one point ahead of the Capitals in the Metropolitan Division. After sixty minutes of inspired hockey couldn’t determine a winner it ended up being Philadelphia picking up the extra point in the shootout, keeping the Capitals a few steps behind in the standings.

First up, Wednesday night’s Plus/Minus.

  • Plus: Andre Burakovsky made his return to the lineup and quickly found his offensive touch again. He ended the night with a goal and an assist in 12 minutes of work.
  • Minus: Lars Eller dropped, and nearly blinded, Chris VandeVelde with an irresponsible high stick to the face.
