Canucks hire former Capitals coach Boudreau

The Vancouver Canucks underwent a management overhaul on Sunday, firing their coach, assistant coach, general manager and assistant general manager.

To replace coach Travis Green, the Canucks hired former Capitals coach Bruce Boudreau. Vancouver has the fifth-worst record in the NHL with 18 points and is last place in the Western Conference’s Pacific Division.

Vancouver will be Boudreau’s fourth stop in the NHL since his first job in Washington about 15 years ago. He was working as an analyst for the NHL Network this season.

Boudreau’s coaching career began in D.C. in 2007, and he led the Capitals to four straight division titles before being fired early in his fifth season.
