Braden Holtby inks his name alongside Martin Brodeur in the NHL record books.
During the 2006-2007 NHL Campaign, Martin Brodeur played 78 games for the New Jersey Devils, and won 48 of those, setting the NHL record for single season wins by a goaltender.
Tonight, Caps' netminder Braden Holtby took the ice for the 66th time on the campaign with an opportunity to tie that record with the aforementioned Brodeur, now Special Assistant to the GM in St. Louis, looking on. And he did just that, adding a bit of poetry to the occassion.
