The Caps last night beat Vancouver, 6-5 in a shootout, despite being down 5-1 late in the second period. A buzzer-beater by Evgeny Kuznetsov to close out the second period, then three more goals in the third – two by defenseman Michal Kempny – tied the game, and Nicklas Backstrom won it a shootout.
