With the Caps down 4-0 to the Senators on Saturday, goalie Charlie Lindgren had it. Near the end of the second period after a shot and a whistle, he left his crease and got into a scrum, making Ottawa goaltender Linus Ullmark leave his crease and cross the red line. Though the goalies didn’t fight – they both only got leaving the crease penalties – Ottawa’s Ridly Greig took a two-minute roughing penalty, while Martin Fehérváry took a double minor.
The period ended shortly after, and Caps fans booed, with the team posting only six shots on net after two periods.
