Patience paid off for Graham Bensinger, who traveled to Moscow in August to interview Alex Ovechkin for his half-hour TV show, “In Depth with Graham Bensinger.”
“There would’ve been the opportunity to do it in D.C. if we wanted to do that much earlier on, but I thought the more interesting access is having the opportunity to go see where he lives in the offseason and where he grew up and all of that,” said Bensinger, who worked to land an interview with Ovechkin abroad for the last five years.
Bensinger and a four-person crew spent two days with Ovechkin and his family in Russia.
