(Caps Outsider) Alex Ovechkin scored his 801st career goal on Friday, moving him into a tie with Gordie Howe for second all-time on the NHL’s career scoring list. Passing back-and-forth with Dylan Strome, Ovi took a wrist shot and scored on Jets goalie David Rittich to give the Caps a 1-0 lead in Washington. The goal also came against former Caps defenseman Brendan Dillon. Ovechkin now sits just 93 goals back from tying Wayne Gretzky for the most goals in NHL history.
