Capitals News: Barry Trotz, Alex Ovechkin Address Friday's Win Over The Islanders

It may have been too early in the Washington Capitals' first-round series with the New York Islanders to have labeled Friday's Game 2 as a "must win," but the Caps sure looked like they were treating it as such in a 4-3 comeback victory at the Verizon Center.

Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom scored to help the Caps erase a 3-1 deficit before Jason Chimera completed the comeback with the game-winning goal 7 1/2 minutes into the third period.

"Just because it doesn't work right away, doesn't mean it's not working," head coach Barry Trotz said of the team's struggles over the first game-plus of the series, via ESPN.com. "You've just got to keep doing the same things and the right things -- and I thought we did. You could see it turning."

Alex Ovechkin had a much more succinct take on the team's epic Game 2 counterpunch which has tied the series at one game apiece.

"When we play our game, (when) we stay in their zone, everything can happen," he said.
