Wake Forest had several players who put up incredible numbers against Duke, and they were rewarded by winning weekly honors. Duke Ejiofor was named ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week, and Cade Carney was been named ACC Rookie of the Week.
These two Deacs were essential to Wake Forest’s 24-14 victory over Duke on Saturday afternoon. Cade Carney carried the ball 17 times for 108 yards (6.4 yards/carry) and scored all 3 of Wake Forest’s touchdowns, including the 55-yard run on 3rd-and-short, and the gorgeous move from 7 yards out where he absorbed the initial hit, spun off that defender, and then trucked the defender around the goal line.
