Former Wake Forest wide receiver, Matt James, is trying out for the Carolina Panthers today at their rookie minicamp. James was not overly productive during his time at Wake Forest, but he does have NFL size at 6'5", 211 pounds. Matt finished his Wake Forest career with 48 receptions, 458 yards, and 0 touchdowns, but the best game of his career came in the 2014 season finale against Duke, in which he had 9 receptions for 87 yards.
Part of his lack of productivity can be attributed to unfortunate injuries. In 2012 he missed 7 games due to a broken collarbone, while he missed the first six games of the 2013 season due to a shoulder injury.
