The #2 ranked Wake Forest men’s soccer team is headed back to the ACC Final for the first time since 2007. The Deacs allowed a painful game-tying goal in the 90th minute of regulation to Louisville’s Tim Kubel to send the game to overtime tied at 1, but Ema Twumasi scored a breakaway goal just 89 seconds into overtime to send the Deacs to the ACC Championship.
Wake Forest took a 1-0 lead in the 29th minute after Hayden Partain beat the goalie one-on-one. Overall, Louisville led in total shots 11-5, and also shots on goal 5-3, but Wake Forest played its typical elite defense and found a way to win.
