Comedian Stephen Colbert recently stopped by Wake Forest to deliver a hilarious commencement speech. While the speech spread on social media and generated plenty of laughs, one person who was not amused was Demon Deacons head football coach Dave Clawson.
The joke that really stung Clawson was when Colbert mocked the Purdue tradition of covering the quad on campus in toilet paper after big wins.
“This is actually an eco-friendly tradition because, looking at this season’s win-loss record, you guys saved a lot of paper,” Colbert said.
Ouch.
Last season, Clawson’s team went 1-7 in conference play and 3-9 overall.
