The University of South Carolina women’s basketball team received some good news this week.
Araion Bradshaw, the No. 32 prospect in the country, gave her verbal commitment to Dawn Staley on Monday.
Bradshaw’s AAU team first reported the news.
The 5-foot-6, five-star point guard is projected to be the top player in New England and chose South Carolina over Arizona, Maryland, Wake Forest, Dartmouth, Columbia, and Dayton.
She’s been tabbed as an athletic, explosive point guard with a scorer’s mentality that is disruptive on the defensive end as well.
Bradshaw is the first commitment in the 2016 recruiting class for the Gamecocks, which needs to replace a talented senior class that led USC to their first Final Four since 1980 last season.
