Congratulations to Wake Forest sophomore Essang Bassey for winning the ACC defensive back of the week award.
Bassey accrued 5 tackles and also had a 30 yard interception return for a touchdown shortly before the half that extended the Wake Forest lead to 21-7.
While the throw was well behind the intended receiver, Bassey was in the right place at the right time and did the rest of the work by getting into the end zone to secure the 6 points.
The Wake Forest secondary wreaked havoc for freshman QB Anthony Brown all day on Saturday, tabulating three interceptions (Cameron Glenn, Jessie Bates III, and Essang Bassey).
