With the new school year has come a positive, forward-looking tone surrounding diversity and inclusion. Students are speaking out against the injustices they see, and the administration looks to change the university’s culture and perception surrounding diversity .
The Editorial Board at the OGB sees these as great steps towards a more inclusive and productive school year. Yet, we cannot help but critically analyze the institutional organizations on campus to look for meaningful steps towards inclusion.
This Editorial Board criticized, and we believe rightfully so, the lack of diversity in Student Government candidates during the elections last spring.
