Privacy should exist, even on the Internet

At some point, I think we have all been in the same position: trying to explain social networking to our parents. It’s not an easy task.

The concept of posting personal information and pictures on the Internet for all to see — or even a few hundred of your closest friends to see — seems ridiculous to a generation accustomed to face-to-face interaction.

Though the standard reaction to parents’ confusion is an eye roll, perhaps their concerns are valid, to an extent.

In the eyes of children, teens and young adults, social media is simply a part of life we are used to, a part of life that many of us would have trouble functioning without.
