Due to an emphasis on the running game this past season, Cam Serigne’s name was called out less and less during the 2016 season. However, the all-time tight end reception leader for Wake Forest continued to improve as a blocker and provided a safety valve for the revolving door of quarterbacks, finishing the year impressively with 30 reception, 426 yards, and three touchdowns.
There was some speculation that Serigne would leave for the NFL after a great three year career. However, after the bowl victory over the Temple Owls, a game in which he caught a touchdown, Serigne announced that he would return for his senior season.
