The No. 15 Wake Forest Demon Deacons took care of business in its final regular season non-conference game of the year with a 10-3 victory over Appalachian State in a game played in Shelby, NC.
The Diamond Deacs (36-16) got down early 3-0 to the Mountaineers (19-33), but used a seven run 5th inning to take a lead they would not give up.
After the bases got jacked with no outs, Johnny Aiello hit his first grand slam of the year, becoming the ninth Demon Deacon to do so during the regular season.
From there Logan Harvey doubled, Jonathan Pryor walked, and Jake Mueller singled them both home after they advanced to 2nd and 3rd on a wild pitch.
