Wake Forest came out with a familiar starting 11, again featuring a very young side with freshmen Brad Dunwell and Jack Harrison starting. Hunter Randy also notably started his 20th consecutive game.
Wake Forest came out hot, with the first shot on goal coming in the second minute, an attempt blocked wide by Florida Gulf Coast University keeper Nathan Ingham.
