Learning the value of editing

I do not know how people view editing. But I know there are at least some people who have the same perspective of editing as I used to have, which is that editing is correcting grammars, wrong use of words and crossing out unsuitable words. Therefore, when I started one of my jobs as an editor for an online textbook, I wondered why it paid so much higher than my other job even though it seemed easier. However, after only three weeks of editing, I have realized that editing is as hard as acting, which I also used to think was easy.
