Wake Forest sophomore Jennifer Kupcho finished tied for second individually in the NCAA Championships. The second place finish was the best in Wake Forest women’s golf history, and ends a bizarre year for Kupcho.
Kupcho led the tournament for much of the second and third round, and headed into the 17th hole with a 2 shot lead over Leona Maguire (Duke), and Monica Vaughn (Arizona State).
From 127 yards out on the 367 yard par four 17th, Kupcho needed to simply put it on the green to, at worst, make a bogey and hold a one shot lead going to 18.
