Usually, we put together a list of three nominees for Deac of the Week and solicit fan votes to name the winner. That wasn’t necessary after Wake escaped Boone with a 20-19 win to move to 4-0. With 10 seconds left in the game, the Mountaineers lined up to attempt a 39 yard game-winning field goal. The snap and the hold were good, but the 6’5” Washington jumped approximately ten feet in the air to get a hand on the ball and cinch Wake’s first back-to-back 4-0 start in school history.
