Wake Forest’s 2017 recruiting class is officially in the books. There were no surprises in this year’s class, as every Wake Forest commit was accounted for by about 8:30 eastern time this morning. To quote Dave Clawson at the recruiting luncheon, “We sent out 19 national letters of intent, and got 19 back by 8:30.”
There was some attrition in the class, as quarterback Taylor Powell committed from the Deacons last week following a secret visit to Missouri. Additionally, Wake Forest lost safety Avery Showell shortly after former defensive coordinator Mike Elko left for Notre Dame. Ultimately Showell committed to Georgia Tech.
