Awareness of sexual assault increases

Though April is the official month for sexual assault awareness, many student activists have united over the course of the year to fight sexual assault and raise awareness across campus. Due to the efforts of many students, the 2014-2015 year has seen a noticeable improvement in campus discussion on sexual assault. New spaces have been created for survivors to share their stories, new events have facilitated discussion among a diverse range of students and the first full-time Title IX Coordinator was officially employed by the university.

In the Fall 2014 semester, now-graduate Liz Stalfort started a blog called “End the Silence, Wake Forest” as a place for survivors of sexual assault to tell their stories.
