BLACKSBURG – Head coach Justin Fuente confirmed Thursday that Charley Wiles will serve as his defensive line coach at Virginia Tech. Wiles originally joined the Tech staff under Frank Beamer in 1996.
Wiles has enjoyed a long association with Hokies’ defensive coordinator Bud Foster, who was an assistant coach at Murray State during Wiles’ tenure as a player for the Racers. During his 20 seasons in Blacksburg, he has coached five All-Americans, including such greats as Cornell Brown, Corey Moore and John Engelberger – all three of whom have been inducted into the Virginia Tech Sports Hall of Fame.
