Two weeks ago, things were falling apart for the Virginia Tech football team after they fired head coach Brent Pry amid an 0-3 start. Fast forward to Saturday afternoon at Lane Stadium and the Hokies are one win away from evening their record with a win over Wake Forest.
Interim coach Philip Montgomery has led Virginia Tech to wins over Wofford, an undermanned FCS team, and an upset of North Carolina State on the road last Saturday night, 23-21, as double-digit underdogs. Now they return to Blacksburg to host Wake Forest, looking for a third straight victory and second straight ACC win.
