Virginia Tech football coach Justin Fuente has agreed to a contract extension through the 2023 season, the school announced Monday.
Fuente was named head coach on Nov. 29, 2015, replacing Frank Beamer, who announced he would retire at the end of that season.
"My family feels incredibly blessed that I'm able to work at Virginia Tech and we're able call Blacksburg our home," Fuente said in a statement. "I'm excited that we'll continue the work that we've begun at Virginia Tech for many years to come."
In his first season with the Hokies, Fuente reached the ACC championship game, losing 42-35 to Clemson.
